Ingredients

  • 4 frozen uncrustables sandwiches (your favorite variety)
  • 2 tablespoons melted unsalted butter or use California olive oil for a lighter touch
  • 1 ripe Hass avocado sliced, for serving (optional)

Method

  1. Take the frozen uncrustables out of their plastic wrappers.
  2. Arrange them in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each so they crisp evenly.
  3. Using a pastry brush, lightly coat the tops of the sandwiches with melted butter (this step is optional but adds a beautiful golden crust).
  4. Air fry at 350°F for 6 to 8 minutes for sweet varieties, or 8 to 10 minutes for savory ones, until the outside is golden and the inside is warm and gooey.
  5. Let the sandwiches cool for a minute or two, then serve with sliced avocado if desired.

Notes

For a burger-like twist, use savory uncrustables and add a slice of cheese after air frying. If your air fryer runs hot, check at 6 minutes to avoid burning. Do not stack the sandwiches; they need airflow to crisp. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes. Try brushing with a little garlic butter for extra flavor. Serve with a side of salsa or ranch for dipping.
